M. Pharm. Pharmacology or Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacology is a postgraduate Pharmacy course. Pharmacology is the branch of medicine and biology concerned with the study of drug action. It is a discipline wherein experimental studies to evaluate the effects of drugs were conducted. Pharmacology is an important subject in drug discovery. It deals with the research, discovery, and characterization of chemicals which show biological effects and the elucidation of cellular and organismal function in relation to these chemicals
It is an extensive pharmacy course dedicated to the theoretical concepts of pharmacological interventions and molecular targets underlying various body diseases. It prepares students for emerging industry trends in a global scenario, we emphasize training with advanced experimental techniques such as stem cell biology, recombinant DNA technology, gel electrophoresis, bioinformatics, statistical interpretations, etc. Students can choose diverse careers in healthcare, pharmacy, medical, etc. Students can work in Pharma market research companies, patents or clinical trials, consultancy in Pharmacy, Drug research, drug regulatory affairs, and Pharmacovigilance.
M. Pharm (Pharmacology) course at KPGU is AICTE and PCI approved. Department of Pharmacology has an Animal house facility approved by CPCSEA. Pharmacology laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated instruments including an Automated hematology analyzer, Automated clinical biochemistry analyzer, UV Transilluminator, Stereotaxic apparatus, Digital plethysmometer, Physiolograph, Histamine chamber, Colling centrifuge, etc. Students will be trained in the handling of various equipment and developing animal models for screening.
